Private Sand makes his sole appearance in TimeSplitters 2, in which his only presence is in a bot set.

He shares his name with Captain Sand, another member of the Desert Force and Pvt Sand's superior. This is one of the rare cases of characters sharing each others' names.

• He, Captain Sand & Sergeant Shivers reuse Sebastian Photon's voice, voiced by Hasit Zala.
• In early builds of TimeSplitters Future Perfect, two bots named Private Sand appear in Vietnam's bot set. In-game he appears as Private Hicks with the voice clips of both Mikey Two-guns and Nikolai.
